  • No prior hockey experience is required, but players should have basic skating ability and ideally have completed a Learn to Skate program or equivalent.

    Our clinics are beginner-friendly and designed to help newer players build confidence and skills in a supportive environment.

    Draft league will be designed to balance skill level to make fun and competitive teams

  • Full hockey equipment is required for both league play and clinics, including:

    • Helmet with cage or bubble

    • Shoulder pads

    • Elbow pads

    • Hockey gloves

    • Hockey pants

    • Shin guards

    • Hockey socks

    • Skates

    • Hockey stick

    • Players register individually and are drafted onto balanced teams based on skill level and experience to help keep the league fun, fair, and competitive.

    • Teams are reshuffled each season to encourage sportsmanship, community building, and balanced play.

    • Players registering with a friend or family member may request to stay together whenever possible.

  • All players participating in Jersey Birds programs are required to have an active USA Hockey membership. While it does provide important insurance coverage for players and organizations, membership also supports the broader growth and development of hockey across the country.

    USA Hockey helps fund player development, coaching education, safety standards, officiating programs, and initiatives that make the game more accessible and inclusive. Your membership also gives you access to sanctioned leagues, tournaments, and events nationwide.

    Most importantly, it helps ensure everyone can safely enjoy the game we all love.
